After a two year pause, Film Night is back again in Penallt!
Film Night at Pelham Hall began in 2009 as a result of some discussion within the Committee and the community about finding ways to broaden the usage of the Hall facilities. Since then, we have shown a broad cross section of comedy, drama, history, horror, slapstick and romance from China to California and most points in between!
Since Autumn 2011 we have become associate members of the British Federation of Film Societies. This rather grand title means that we are able to draw on a wonderful library of well-chosen and researched DVDs. The BFFS is a non-profit organisation specifically set up to cater for smaller local film clubs and societies who aren’t in the business of screening the latest block-buster releases but who nevertheless wish to see well-made and interesting films from around the world.
It’s very much a relaxed way for friends within the Penallt and district community to get together for an evening, seeing something one would be unlikely to view elsewhere and at the same time, enjoying some good company, a spot of good food and perhaps a glass or two over the bar.
Screenings are usually on the first Saturday of the month from September to April. Doors open 7.30pm. Ticket price currently £5 to include some home made food. All welcome.
