In the past the village has come together to celebrate numerous events especially Royal Occasions. One or two tentative enquires have been made to see if people would like to celebrate the Golden Jubilee in June 2012. It should be possible to utilise the Village Green (if thought to be a good option). It may also be possible to have a street party through the village. On previous occasions events have been started with a pram race around the village, other activities have included children’s sports, fancy dress, picnics, BBQs, etc, however it all needs to be agreed and organised.
A small group of villagers has been established, but if you have any ideas, suggestions or are willing to help and want to get involved please contact Roger Forbes at [email protected] initially, with suggestions, ideas or just to offer your help and support.
The organisation of this important event does not need to be a huge burden for anyone, it would be lovely for the village to all come together to celebrate and make it a memorable occasion.
Meetings will be arranged in the coming weeks and months to carry these plans forward.
