Two Penallters fought and safely returned from the war in the Falkland Islands; David Wynn Boycott of the Parachute Regiment, grandson of Mrs Lilian Boycott; and Commander Simon Wilkinson, son of Mr and Mrs Wilkinson of New Mills, who served on HMS Hermes.
