… to cut it short, in attempting to rectify a problem which customers of one particular internet provider were having in viewing the site, I made matters much worse and we lost the site altogether. It’s taken several days of toing and froing between three different Helpdesks to finally get some settings (those for DNS – domain name servers – for those interested) correctly configured.
One difficulty is that you have to wait between 24 and 48 hours after tweaking settings to find out if they have been successfully done – immensely frustrating and time consuming.
