Carols Round The Tree

Carols round the tree – Christmas 2013

December 2013 saw the inaugural “carols around the tree” which brought a feeling of old time community spirit whilst helping to raise a little money for our Old Church. There were opportunities to pay a visit to the gift table, buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win a great prize, enjoy tea and cake or a warming glass of mulled wine!

Over 150 braved a wet and windy Saturday afternoon at Pelham Hall to become a carol singer for the evening with carols around the tree accompanied by Bream Silver Band. It was a great social occasion for all the community, enjoyed as much by those with young children (and the children themselves, of course!) as by those with longer memories.

Richard Walters proved to be a splendid organiser running the whole show, and especially the raffle, with calm aplomb, and the Bream Silver Band proved to be the perfect accompaniment to the proceedings.
