Details of menus, opening times, etc can now be found on the recently launched website for the Bush – www.thebushpenallt.co.uk.
There’s a new telephone number too – now 01600 712236.
Welsh Government rules allow pubs to open inside as well as outside from May 17th, but restrictions re groups of up to 6 and social distancing mean that The Bush will have table service only inside to meet these conditions.
The Bush is closed on Mondays so these new arrangements will start on Tuesday May 18th.
Bronwen Boston-Keene and her mother Bev have great plans for The Bush (formerly the Inn at Penallt), starting with its reopening on Tuesday April 27th at 5pm. COVID restrictions mean that it will only serve food and drink outside and customers will need to order at the table, in line with many other pubs.
The good news is that, as well as tables being available in the front beer garden near the entrance, the rear garden will once again be open for use. New landscaping has made the garden even more inviting, the highlight being the installation of a pond system lower down.
Details of the menu will be available soon, the idea being to restore it to a traditional pub food list.
Bron and Bev also have ambitions to open a small village shop and to be open at other times for teas and coffees too.
