a. That the proposed installation address of the SME (which must be their trading address) or residential beneficiary is within a participating local body’s administrative area.
b. That the SME meets the European Commission definition of SME (details here), which can be summarised as:
- Up to 249 employees (in total in the organisation) and turnover no greater than €50m per annum, and/or
- Balance sheet of no more than €43m
c. That the SME has not received a previous gigabit voucher or preregistered package under the Scheme. SMEs may benefit from multiple connections supported by the Scheme at different locations, but no SME may benefit by more than £7000 in total.
Responsibilities
You are responsible for checking that you meet the eligibility requirements for the Scheme.
You will be asked to self-certify that you meet the SME definition criteria (where applicable) and are eligible to receive funding under the De Minimis Regulation.
If required to do so you must provide evidence of your status as a SME or sole trader.
Acceptable Documentation includes: VAT registration; Charity Registration: HMRC notification; sole trader UTR number; certification of incorporation (limited companies); business bank account statement issued within the last three months; non-domestic rates reference. Other documentation, such as business-related utility bills, may be acceptable in certain circumstances if combined with other documentation.
