Winter rain record

17th February 2014
It’s raining again today, but yesterday (16th February) was entirely rain-free, the first such day since December 11th last year! So we have endured 66 consecutive days (over two months) of rainy days during December, January and February..

During this time, the total rainfall measured was 712.4 mm (28.0 inches) and the average daily precipitation was 10.8 mm. This is nearly 3.2 times the value recorded at Penallt between April 2011 and December 2013 of 3.4 mm/day.
