Deep in the Wye Valley, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, The Boat Inn is set in a stunning location right on the banks of the Wye. Built in 1650 of local stone (making it cool in the summer and warm in the winter!), the pub boasts magical terraced gardens leading up to a rock face waterfall! An idyllic spot to while away an afternoon.
There is limited parking on the Penallt side so people regularly park in the Redbrook car park (pay and display). Then take a small stroll over the Victorian railway bridge which brings you from England to Wales.
They have a seasonally changing menu of home cooked food, a large range of local ciders and ales from cask to enjoy.
Family and dog friendly – there is access to many local walks (to suit all abilities). and The Boat is also a popular stop for cyclists, canoeists, kayakers, horse riders and the odd Morris dancer!
